WIG Annual Parish Meeting (April)

Updated: Apr 2, 2021

Dear Parishioners

Every year the honour of hosting the annual parish meeting falls on the chairman of the parish council. This is not a meeting of the Parish Council, instead its an opportunity for the parishioners to hear what the council has achieved in the last year, an opportunity for parishioners to express opinions on what the council are doing and for local community groups to showcase their work and plans.

In non-Covid times, once the brief formalities of the meeting are complete, such a meeting would be held in the hall, refreshments provided and a lighter community event would ensue.

As restrictions are still in place this year I will host an online meeting.

One of my core principles as a councillor is to engage with the parish, foster good ties with our community groups and support local businesses. To that end I wish to extend an invite to our community groups, such as Gardening club and Social Committee to present updates and information on their efforts within the parish.

If you are part of a community group and would like to use the annual meeting to communicate with the parish, please do get in touch.

Secondly, if you are a local parish business and wish to showcase your work, I would like to invite you to present at the meeting. Its vitally important our community not only knows about local business and the services they offer, but actively support them, especially in these difficult times.

The date and timings of the meeting are still being finalised, as soon as details are known an event will be created on the website and publicised.

Many thanks for your support

Cllr Daveran Baulch
