Welcome to Weston-in-Gordano Parish Council Website

Your new Parish Council Website

"Welcome to the Weston-in-Gordano Parish Council Website. We may be a small Parish but that doesn't mean we need to think small. Our community, an eclectic mix of life-long village residents and new-comers from far afield, rich with the diversity of background and age, deserve the very best online service the Parish Council can provide. To this end I am committed to creating a versatile and broad online community for our Parish.

There are regulatory, mandated functions such as providing full visibility over our Parish Council meetings, audits, policies etc, which will be fulfilled. Key strategic projects and initiatives such as Speed Watch and rural broadband will feature prominently. News and alerts from North Somerset Council, from road maintenance to Covid response will be publicised here, as well as on our affiliated social media.

In addition, the website will provide an online hub seeking to engage parishioners with a broad spectrum of content such as community notice boards, forums, blog posts, articles, walks, recipes, photo albums, parish history and remembrance, as well as offering online space for community group pages such as the gardening club and village hall. In time, as the website develops, we'll become the online arm of the Parish Pump, our well loved local pamphlet.

These things will take time to get where there need to be, but I feel strongly that before long Weston-in-Gordano will have a community website to be proud of. Successfully bringing a gold standard service to parishioners can only be achieved with parishioner input. Tell us what you want to see, what services benefit you and get involved with creating content for the website, be it nature walks, photos, poetry, recipes, village history or any other topic you feel benefits the community. We'd love to hear from you, so please do Contact Us.- Cllr Daveran Baulch

Website Under Construction!

"Our old Parish Council website has reached the end of its life. The Council reviewed the capabilities of the old provider and decided the Parish would benefit from a change, not only financially but with improved functionality.

On 7th January 2021 the old website failed, probably due to the decommissioning of Adobe Flash which was used extensively in the old site.

In order to continue to provide an online service to the community the new website was launched in a beta testing state." - Cllr Daveran Baulch
