Welcome to Weston-in-Gordano Parish Council Website
Weston-in-Gordano is a small lively and friendly community, nestled in the heart of the Gordano Valley, Somerset, England.
It is the largest Village situated in the middle of the Gordano Valley on the north side, and in the Unitary Authority of North Somerset, on the road between Clevedon and Portishead.
The Church of St Peter and St Paul, the village centrepiece, was erected in the 12th Century by Robert, Sir Ascelin de Perceval, Earl of Yvery, son of Robert who accompanied William the Conqueror on his expedition to England. Richard, the Grandson of Ascelin, was a Commander in King Richard’s army on the Third Crusade to the Holy Land, and his tomb is just opposite the porch.
The website is split into three distinct parts, Home, The WIG Parish Council pages and Parish Pump Online.
Head to Parish Pump Online where we aim to provide an eclectic repository of articles, photographs, blogs, community groups, local businesses, history, remembrance pages and more.
Parish life is as complex today as its history describes and these pages will in time reflect that beautiful diversity of our environment both past and present.
