M5 J19 southbound entry slip (near Gordano services, Bristol)
M5 J19 southbound entry-slip overnight closure - 11 January 2021
Highways England plans, builds, operates and maintains England’s motorways and
major A roads.
M5 J19 improvement works
This junction often becomes gridlocked during peak traffic flow. In order to alleviate
congestion we’re reconfiguring the slip lanes and roundabout to allow traffic to flow more
freely. We’re co-ordinating our works with Wales and West Utility Company to minimise
disruption to motorists. During the next phase of works we’ll need to close the
southbound entry-slip overnight for the safety of our workforce.
Overnight closure: 8pm 11 January 2021 to 6am the following morning
The southbound entry-slip road will be closed overnight. Access to Gordano Services will
be unaffected. Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place as agreed with North
Somerset and Bristol City Council. Please note: the B3124 is unsuitable for heavy
vehicles and does not form part of our diversion route, we would encourage all drivers to
stick to the officially signed diversion route.
We will keep you informed via advance roadside warning signs. You can also follow us

We always aim to work to the programme, however unforseen circumstances or
adverse weather conditions may mean changes to it. We will make every effort to
ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum.
Thank you for your patience whilst these essential works are carried out. If you have
