Free summer annuals to create a floral village display

Hopefully you saw the little feature in the Parish Pump saying that we have applied to North Somerset Council Parks Department to receive some annual flower plants, for the village planters. They also agreed that the plants could also be used by gardeners in the village, who can plant them in containers or other visible positions, and of course maintain them, for all to see and enjoy.

We may not reach Portishead in Bloom levels of floweriness, but we hope to make a beautiful display for everyone to enjoy. Pam Harrison, has kindly agreed to coordinate this project. I can now confirm that we have been very lucky and will be receiving lots of plants. Do mention it to friends and neighbours that live in a place with a garden/frontage that can be seen from the street.
